Tarot Divination & Fate
Tarot is the story of 'The Fool's 0 Journey', which is reminiscent of the classic 'Hero's Journey'. The idea of The Fool 0 is of the innocent soul who, travelling along their life path, encounters experiences that are both unique and commonplace to all people. Everyperson's life journey is represented by The Major and The Minor Arcana.
By reading Tarot, I offer my clients a different perspective to life events. The Tarot expresses its amazing wisdom in the language of Archetypes, colour and chakra, ancient and arcane symbols and signs, numerology and astrology, mythical stories and analogies. We benefit by reflecting on what Tarot has shown us, and its importance in our lives.
Each Tarot card provides both the essence of a problem and its solution. Every Tarot card describes both the issue and ways to address, deal with, and resolve it. Tarot readings not only help us to resolve life's dilemmas and difficulties, but make our experiences meaningful. Divination helps us to see challenges as lessons. What a person takes away from their reading or, decides to do as a result of their reading, is always personal choice or decision.
For example, have you ever felt you were 'caught in a loop'? Do you feel that history is repeating itself and you seem to be experiencing the same thing 'over and over again': same, same, but different? Would you like an explanation as to why this might be happening? Or better still, do you think knowing how 'break the cycle' could help you move forward? A Tarot reading can suggest different ideas, perspectives and actions you might take to prevent or change a recurring situation. If we want a different future, it is often wise to reflect on and revise our current thoughts-actions. The choices, decisions and changes we make today, affect and help shape our future.
Divination or Fate?
Divination offers insights about the past and present while suggesting future potential and possibilities. I read Tarot for divination. Tarot divination is not the same as predicting someone's fate. To declare a pre-determined future, works against the principles of freedom of choice and free-will.
Tarot readings not only help us to resolve life's dilemmas and difficulties, but make our experiences meaningful and actions and lives purposeful. Divination helps us see our challenges as lessons. What a person takes away from their reading or, decides to do as a result of their reading, is always personal choice or decision.
While not my intention it is completely possible that a strong and timely reading will 'come true'. This becomes likely because the client has followed-through on actions suggested by a reading, with self-awareness, focus and self-determination.
Epicurus (341 BC), is the Greek Philosopher who was credited with saying, 'its not what happens to us but how we choose to deal with it'. He taught the 3 essential elements of ‘happiness’ were positive relationships, free-will and self-reflection/self-analysis. These are also essential tenets of Tarot.
